Sthala Ubud Bali Brings Together 10 Local Artists for a 10-Day Art Exhibition Celebrating Its 10th Anniversary

BALI-INDONESIA-kanalsembilan.com (5 October 2026)

Sthala, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel, Ubud Bali invites guests and travellers to experience a different side of Ubud through Ten Ubud Local Artists, an intimate art exhibition held as part of the hotel’s 10th anniversary celebration.

From 30 September to 10 October 2026, the Mezzanine on the 6th floor of Sthala will become a setting for works by 10 artists connected to Ubud and its artistic community. The exhibition brings together paintings and prints that draw from Balinese culture, nature, human stories and personal expression.

The participating artists are I Wayan Dastra, I Made Suasta, I Dewa Putu Putrayasa, Desak Desira, Kurniati Andika, Atmi Kristiadewi, Oka Armini, Putu Eni, Tika Sudibia and Listya Wahyuni. Their works range from acrylic on canvas to lino cut prints and mixed-media pieces.

For a hotel rooted in Ubud, the setting feels fitting. Sthala sits in Lodtunduh, surrounded by the quieter landscape of southern Ubud and alongside the Wos River. Art and Balinese cultural references have long been part of the hotel’s visual character, making the exhibition a natural part of its 10th anniversary programme.

A collection shaped by Ubud

The works presented during the exhibition move between familiar Balinese subjects and more personal interpretations.
I Wayan Dastra’s “Harmony alam” presents a serene figure surrounded by lotus flowers and a swan, while “Ulundanu Beratan” turns to the landscape of Lake Beratan, with its temple structures, water and surrounding mountains. Both works were created in 2026 using acrylic on canvas.

I Made Suasta’s “Teguh dalam ujian & godaan” and “Keagungan yang abadi” bring Balinese figures, nature and temple architecture into two large-scale acrylic paintings.

Elsewhere in the collection, Desak Desira uses flowers, colour and decorative forms in “Traces of flowers and wigs” and “A symphony of fragrance and freedom.” Kurniati Andika presents a softer human perspective through “Hi cantik” and “Pesona Wanita,” while Atmi Kristiadewi’s “Celebrating life” and “Love yourself” use expressive colour and scenes of everyday life.

The exhibition also includes the lino cut prints of Oka Armini, including “Vas Bunga” and “Dipelukan ibu,” alongside Putu Eni’s intimate paintings “Promise to always protect” and “The most comfortable place.”

Tika Sudibia works with acrylic, beads and feathers in “A woman with many stories,” while Listya Wahyuni explores connection and the natural world through “Saling terhubung” and “Happiness on Mother earth.”

Together, the works give visitors a glimpse into the different ways artists working in and around Ubud interpret their surroundings, memories and relationships with Balinese life.

An exhibition with a purpose
The exhibition also carries a philanthropic element and 100% of every purchase will be donated. The event will be open daily throughout its 10-day run, giving hotel guests, art collectors and travellers to Ubud an opportunity to view the works and enquire about purchasing them.

For Sthala, the anniversary exhibition adds an artistic dimension to a decade of hospitality in Ubud. It brings local artists into the hotel and gives guests a chance to encounter contemporary works while spending time in one of Bali’s most established creative communities.

A Decade of Memories: An Unforgettable Evening with Shanty

The anniversary programme culminates in “A Decade of Memories: An Unforgettable Evening with Shanty,” an intimate rooftop gala dinner promising an exquisite evening of culinary indulgence, entertainment, and celebration, framed by breathtaking views of the lush jungle and river from Wantilan Rooftop, Level 8, from 6:00 PM onwards.

The evening will bring together a premium BBQ buffet dinner, free-flow alcoholic beverages, live entertainment and a performance by Shanty. Guests can also experience Ten Ubud Local Artists, take part in prize activities, and join the time capsule ceremony.
